We are looking for a COVID-19 Lighthouse Testing Laboratory Senior Scientists to join the team in the Lighthouse Testing Laboratory at Bracknell. This is a 2 month contract working 37.5 hours a week, salary offering at £23.47 Per Hour.Job PurposeThe job holder will work in a new COVID-19 Lighthouse Testing Laboratory in Bracknell, forming part of NHS Test and Trace and managed by Berkshire and Surrey Pathology Services (BSPS). BSPS is a large and established pathology network operating across RoyalBerkshire, Royal Surrey, Frimley Health and Ashford and St Peters Hospitals NHS Foundation Trusts. The post holder will participate in the provision of an efficient and cost effective COVID-19 testing service within Berkshire and Surrey Pathology Services.Key Responsibilities To assist in the provision of a COVID-19 testing serviceTo maintain the highest possible standards of scientific work appropriate for a comprehensive, efficient and cost effective COVID-19 testing serviceTo be aware of current and developments in professionalstandards and national policies that pertain to the delivery of COVID-19 testing servicesTo assist when required in scientific development, evaluation, audit and research both within the specialty and with clinicians and scientists in the wider organisation To manage junior staffEssential Criteria MSc in Biomedical Science / Medical Microbiology / Virology or equivalentRelevant IBMS Specialist Diploma(s) or equivalent specialist laboratory experience A/IEvidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD)Good grasp of Health & Safety issues,COSHH, ISO & quality issuesExcellent written communication and attention to detail.
