Job Description

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are recruiting a Lead Stores Operative to join the team located in Bracknell. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a service for all Goods-in deliveries and mail handling, as well as being accountable for receiving goods, booking in, correct distribution and delivering the goods received across our clients International Research centre.Role Summary:

  • Supervise personnel assigned to mail services, including establishing work schedules, assigning tasks, cross-training staff to perform shipping/receiving duties as back-up and evaluating and developing performance
  • Maintain records of the mailing costs incurred by each business unit or department.
  • Handle all direct customer email and telephone enquiries to the FM Stores and Post room; may include but not limited to monitoring requests, and answer telephones in a professional manner
  • Maintain policy and procedural manuals for mailroom operations; informs mailroom personnel of changes made to policies and procedures; conduct weekly meetings regarding safety, procedures, and operations
  • Provide formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area; plan and monitor appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labour, including overtime
  • Prepare and deliver performance appraisal for staff; mentor and coach team members to further develop competencies; lead by example and models behaviours that are consistent with the companys values
  • Manage stock levels of all stores consumables, gases and solvents plus the ordering of all items held using Syngentas online ordering system
  • Fulfilment of Syngenta gas cylinder orders, this includes the install/swapping of gas cylinders and keeping cylinder hoses up to date across entire site; training provided by BOC and responsible for the reordering of the gases on site
  • Maintain and replenish stock levels of Syngenta solvent stores (Denios, Chemical courtyard and 167); ordering of chemicals needed and update Syngenta on a monthly basis of amounts ordered
  • Fulfil consumable and PPE orders from Syngenta received through email and Apex online ordering systems; cross charging of orders, inputting the months data of consumable orders from Syngenta personnel through email and the Apex system, including PPE, cylinders and DHL bookings and email them to Syngenta finance team
  • Load and unload freight vehicles, trucks and vans in line with H&S procedures; moving goods around with use of pallet trucks or trollies, dependant on size of items and physical movement of stock which includes unpacking and loading onto shelves within stores area
  • Notifying relevant person/department via the delivery note of any short shipments/mis-packs or damaged items; receive, enter and transfer items into relevant delivery cages for delivery across site via company vehicle or forklift
  • Ensure all packages and mail are collected, sorted, and distributed correctly across the sites various buildings; process all courier requirements, maintaining accurate records to enable cross charging where required and perform investigations into lost packages, as well as process unidentified mail
  • Ensure accurate and up to date documentation of Stores/Mail Room procedures; ensure site database is updated regularly
  • Follow all Health & Safety and Environmental requirements that are defined on work instructions or communicated in training; report all hazards, accidents, occupational illnesses and emergencies
  • Undertake and maintain awareness of manual handling training; knowledge of emergency procedures associated with goods in, including suspect package procedures
  • Order items such as gloves, recyclable cups and plastic bags keeping to agreed stock levels; maintain stationery stock levels/replenish supplies, such as paper, printer cartridges across site as necessary
  • In addition to the above-mentioned tasks, other activities and responsibilities may be individually defined to meet the needs of the business
  • Experience Required:
  • Customer service orientated attitude with good level of written and verbal communication skills
  • IT skills including MS Office, data base experience
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of an integrated site team
  • Ability to prioritise workload to effectively meet deadlines
  • Full clean driving license; Forklift license
  • Good understanding of sorting, handling and delivering large parcels, sorting and franking post
  • Previous Experience in leading a team; experience within a Goods in environment
  • Understanding of workplace Health and safety and manual handling
