Job Description

Head of Technical and Support ServicesBordon, GU35 9JAPermanent/ Full time 39 hours per weekSalary: £65,000- £75,000 per annum, dependent upon experience, plus benefitsSerco are currently recruiting for a Head of Technical and Support Services to join the team based at our Oakhanger site located in Bordon.The Key purpose of this role is to lead the Serco Technical Delivery & Support Services departments and represent Serco within the Skynet Contract. You will engage and network with relevant internal and external organisations and key stakeholders in order tobuild Sercos reputation in this capability. Furthermore, this role will seek to develop and implement the Skynet contracts strategy for growth in the Technical Delivery & Support Services capabilities through identifying, qualifying, execution and transitionof new and existing contract relationships to increase customer loyalty, and delivery quarterly, annual financial and profitable growth targets.You will also have accountability for the operational service delivery of Technical Delivery and Support Services across the Skynet/SSCC Contract; meeting KPI targets, quality compliance, safety, continuous improvement and all contractual, legal and corporateobligations.Main Accountabilities:

  • The management and delivery of the Technical Delivery & Support Services organisation, financially, commercially and operationally. Key Customer and internal interface on all Technical Delivery financial and commercial matters Implementation of Strategiesand Growth to sustain and develop the department capability
  • Accountable for the Safe, effective and economic operation of the Technical Delivery departments across the Skynet sites
  • Accountable for the management of the Terminal Support Team, Training Delivery and Mowag Support.
  • Accountable for all team communications and drive motivated to achieve delivery dates for programme milestones and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Accountable for all areas of responsibility provide a high level of service in support of all stakeholders.
  • Accountable for all budgets including forecasting and ensure they are controlled and monitored to maintain business plans.
  • Provide out of hours support and ensure 24/7 operational requirements are maintained
  • Drive and ensure delivery of business objectives and business activities
  • Ensure all teams are properly trained and resourced to support operational and growth requirements
  • Responsible for attending and contributing to Governance/Gate reviews applying Commercial and SME acumen.
  • Act as representative of Serco at customer meetings and briefings.
  • Ensure all meetings are attended as required or provide a suitable deputy.
  • To ensure that the employees lifecycle is managed effectively throughout all stages of their employment including engagement, recruitment and selection, induction, performance management and recognition.
  • Upholding the values and behaviours of Serco and demonstrating the governing principles.
  • Promote business continuity and continuous improvement within all teams
  • Deputise where required in the absence of Department Managers and Senior Managers.
What youll need to do the role:
  • Must be able to achieve security clearance
  • Experience of successful people management and team development
  • Experience of working in a customer focused environment
  • Experience of managing and forecasting multiple budgets
  • Knowledge of Commercial and Business practices including Proposals, Change Requests, Cost Modelling & Framework Agreements
