Job Description

OverviewThis well-established public sector organisation are looking for an experienced finance professional to join their team. This role will be offered on a hybrid working scheme and you will be working 25 hours a week across 4 days, ideally Monday to Thursday.This is a crucial role within the organisation as you will be working closely with senior management and will be a key figure at month end.Finance Officer - About the RoleIn this role you will be reporting into the General Manager whilst also liaising with multiple departments. Furthermore, you will be responsible for preparing and handling the annual budget as well as preparing monthly management accounts. This is a fantasticrole that offers great flexibility within a busy and vibrant office environment.Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Preparing monthly management accounts and providing relevant commentary to the board.
  • To prepare the draft annual budget and present proposals for consideration and approval.
  • To maintain records for and present forecasts of future movements of funds.
  • Regular reporting to senior finance on the monitoring of actual income and expenditure against budgets set.
  • Reviewing and monitoring the internal systems and ensuring the proper checks and controls are in place.
  • Preparing annual financial statements in accordance with applicable legislation and guideline.
  • Maintaining an adequate system of bookkeeping so this can be accessed regularly.
  • Managing the monthly payroll and timely submission of all year-end returns.
The successful Finance Officer will have
  • Previous experience in a similar position
  • Experience within public sector would be advantageous
  • Working knowledge of financial & budget management
  • AAT or QBE candidates will be considered
  • Ability to communicate at all levels
