Job Description

Wash Bay SupervisorBootle, Liverpool£23,000 - £30,000 (depending on experience)Monday – Friday, Days The Wash Bay Supervisor will be responsible for the oversight and management of tank wash station operations ensuring KPI’s are met and offer site-based support with regards to wash station operations.Working closely with the Depot Manager, Fleet Engineer, Transport Manager and HSEQ Manager, the Wash Bay Supervisor will be a pro-active, customer focused individual with drive to deliver a high level of service to both internal and external customers.This is an operational role and will involve being “hands-on”, leading by example in terms of washing activities and delivering the key responsibilities and performance measures.The Candidate;

  • HGV class1 Licence (desirable)
  • FLT Counterbalance (desirable)
  • Confined space (desirable)
  • Supervisory experience with an industrial cleaning / tank cleaning environment
  • Excellent people management and communication skills
  • Willing to work flexible shifts and provide weekend cover on a rota basis
  • Able to work on his / her own initiative and form part of a team
  • Intelligent, highly disciplined and possess a responsible attitude
  • Able to complete paperwork and most importantly work to strict health and safety procedures
  • Duties and Responsibilities;
  • Manage wash bay staff requirements and rota (inc. holidays and breaks)
  • Monitor wash bay staff performance and manage (mentor, coach and develop) accordingly – including decisions on use of agency staff
  • Follow relevant legislation and internal Company policies regarding wash bay employee discipline and implement corrective action where necessary
  • Deal with customer job requests, queries and complaints
  • Meet with customers to discuss requirements and increase customer base
  • Undertake daily/weekly/monthly checks and carry out or co-ordinate repairs as required
  • Assist HSEQ Manager with audits
  • Ensure all washes (internal & external are completed to a high standard
  • Investigate non-conformances/customer complaints and implement any corrective action within defined timescales
  • Empty pits & silos as required – regular monitoring to ensure build-up of solids does not exceed acceptable levels
  • Arrange waste collections
