Job Description

Connect2SocialWork are looking for Team Manager to join Sefton Council on a Locum basis. They currently have vacancies in their Childrens Social Work Team.Sefton welcome applications from Team Managers who have a thorough understanding of the frameworks that underpin social work practice, can bring insight and experience to the team and the lives of children are able to show initiative and can develop ourservices to an outstanding standard. You must also enjoy working in a high-paced team, being able to deliver consistency, energy passion to make a difference in children and young peoples lives.Key Skills

  • Knowledge of The Children Act 1989, related guidance and regulations, and the responsibilities/duties of Children, Schools and Families department
  • Knowledge of current initiatives in the field of Child Care Services.
  • Knowledge of the management role as it relates to social work teams.
  • Knowledge of the work and functions of personal Social Services.
  • Knowledge of Local Government Policies and Procedures in relation to staffing issues such as Disciplining/Capability and Sickness absence Policies.
  • To manage the resources (including staffing) of the relevant social work team.
  • Ability to take advantage of, and use, information technology, including ICS.
  • To be committed to the concept of, and be able to utilise, Action Planning as a means of setting and reviewing the professional objectives of a social work team.
Qualifications and/or experience:
  • A recognised Social Work qualification e.g. Degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW or equivalent as recognised by the relevant professional body.
  • Registration with the relevant professional registration body and maintaining registration with that body.
  • Knowledge of theoretical Social Work concepts and practices, with demonstrable examples of dealing with complex issues, for example, attachment, impact of developmental trauma and child development.
  • Experience of effectively coaching and supervising others, acting as practice role model and promoting exemplary practice.
  • Experience of managing levels of risk within a caseload.
