Job Description

Job Title: Experienced Special Needs Support Assistant (One-to-One)Location: Thornton, SeftonType: Full-time, January 2024 - July 2024 with Permanent OpportunityHours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Term Time OnlyWe are seeking an experienced Special Needs Support Assistant to join our mainstream primary school in Thornton, Sefton. This is a full-time position working one-to-one with a primary school child with Autism and non-verbal communication needs.Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support, focusing on academic and social development.
  • Collaborate with teachers and professionals to implement personalised learning plans.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to the teacher and parents/guardians.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience supporting children with Autism and non-verbal communication difficulties.
  • Knowledge of special educational needs and inclusive practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to individual needs and employ effective strategies.
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
This is a temporary position from January to July, with potential for a permanent role. Working hours are from 8:30am to 3:30pm during term time.To apply, please submit your CV below.
