Job Description

My client, a high-achieving, non-selective Independent Prep School in Sidcup is looking for a confident, qualified practitioner to provide outstanding teaching for children in Key Stage 2.The vibrant learning environment is one where children feel safe, happy and challenged to always achieve their best. With small classes of up to 20 pupils, teachers are better able to educate, encourage and nurture pupils on an individual basis and aid thedevelopment of knowledge, character and personality.The result of this careful attention ensures children leave the school confident, well-rounded young people and ready for the challenges that come from secondary education.Purpose of the Role:

  • Carry out the professional duties of a Key Stage 2 Class Teacher including planning, teaching, assessing and evaluating lessons, and managing behaviour in accordance with school policy.
  • Provide inspirational, fun, and broad curriculum for children at the appropriate curriculum level, reflecting the schools ethos and promotes a life-long love of learning.
  • Promote equality of opportunity for all pupils so potential is encouraged and developed.
  • Playing a full part in the life of the school participating in any meetings, professional development sessions, and events as required.
Essential and Desirable Requirements:
  • QTS and Induction completion or equivalent teacher training
  • Experience in teaching Primary age pupils at Key Stage 2 (preferably in a similar setting)
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Motivation to driving up standards of achievement
  • Up to date knowledge of safeguarding legislation and guidance
