Job Description

Data Protection Manager£29,163 per annum (pro rata)Liverpool/London (remote to start)Initial 6 month Fixed Term ContractCapita are working with the Charity Commission, who are looking for a Data Protection Manager to manage the DPIA process and monitor risks. As well as being able to identify where DPIAs would be required, you will work alongside staff to complete DPIAs,giving advice and guidance where necessary, and also set up a tracker to monitor outcomes from DPIAs.Further tasks include, but are not limited to:Maintenance and management of all accountability trackers relating to data protectionManagement of data breaches, including reporting and identifying lessons learned / areas for improvementMaintenance of the data protection dashboard, including reporting on performanceSupporting and advising colleagues on privacy noticesGiving advice on data protection overall including compliance with the UK GDPRResponsibility for the Charity Commissions online Data Protection resource centre for staff, as well as training staff in its use when neededOn occasion, and if required, you will also deputise for the DPO.It is essential that you have a good working and practical knowledge of UK GDPR, DPA 18 and be able to apply that to a variety of situations. You should also have experience of working in, and advising on, data protection matters, in particular, experienceof completing DPIAs and recognising where they need to be completed.You must be a confident communicator at all levels and possess strong negotiation skills to be able to deal with a variety of stakeholders. This includes the ability to explain complex information simply.It is vital that you are well organised and able to manage competing priorities within your own workload, being both proactive and working on your own initiative.*Please note this role will be remote working until at least the end of June and after that the expectation of one or two days a week in either the Liverpool or London offices*
