Job Description

CompanyNigel Wright is delighted to recruit an experienced technical training and product support specialist for Draegers Service Academy Training organisation.Draeger is a leading international company in the fields of medical and safety technology. The group maintain sales and service organisations in over 40 countries.RoleWorking closely with Draeger staff, as well as external customers predominantly in the fields of Gas Detection (fixed and portable devices) and Drug and Alcohol Detection Technologies, the successful candidate will deliver regular ‘lunch and learn’ sessions, week-long training courses, workshops and field-based training (at required locations and customer sites). Based at Draegers state-of-the-art training academy in Blyth, training courses will cover areas such as installation, commissioning, calibration, repairs, and using equipment in different environments and conditions.Candidates must understand all relevant legislation and regulation around accidents, customer complaints and quality issues, as well as the risks and precautions of working with technologies in different high-risk areas. Given the broad and varied customer base, excellent service levels must always be maintained. Key tasks will include:

  • Preparing and delivering internal and external technical training courses.
  • Identifying specialist tools required by service engineers and customers.
  • Recommending improvements for devices, product lines, and customer care.
  • Notifying the quality department of any quality issues on specific devices.
  • Providing support to quality, sales and service engineers.
  • Completing offsite assessments, as required, to approve facilities.
  • Conceiving training programmes for updates to existing product and devices.

  • Previous training experience in a technical product environment with a recognised training qualification or the desire and ability to study and obtain such a qualification.
  • Customer focus with a positive attitude toward solving problems
  • Excellent communication skills are essential, candidates need to be engaging and credible, with a focus on delivering outstanding levels of service.
  • Electronic engineering bias would be preferred at HNC or above equivalent Level.
  • Able to be hands on, visit customer sites and assess areas and situations.
  • Familiarity with IT networking and connectivity would be an advantage.
  • With a UK wide customer base, there will be a requirement to travel to customer sites and provide onsite training and service support, it is estimated that c50% of time will be spent in the field, so an ability to travel will be essential.
