The ServiceThe post is based within the Housing and Public Protection Service, which is responsible for the management and repair of the councils own housing stock (circa 8,700 properties) and the delivery of a broad range of regulatory and enforcement actions. The postwill be based in the growing Housing Delivery team which forms part of the Housing Maintenance and Capital Delivery function. The roleThis role offers exciting and significant opportunities to identify potential new build, refurbishment and regeneration opportunities to meet affordable housing need and support implementation of the agreed housing delivery programme that aims to deliver theright type of affordable housing, at the right scale in the right location and managed by the right landlord. The post holder will work alongside an existing Housing Development Officer and report to the Housing Delivery Manager and will be expected to workwith a flexible, positive approach and make an active contribution to the overall development of the newly formed Housing Delivery function. The key responsibilities of the post include: To identify potential new build, refurbishment and regeneration opportunities to meet affordable housing need and support implementation of the agreed housing delivery programme. To assess and determine value for money, overall benefits and potential barriers to schemes and carry out Viability appraisals to support the implementation of the housing delivery programme. To work collaboratively with the appropriate internal stakeholders to deliver a seamless Housing Delivery service, including Adult Social Care, Planning Policy, Planning Development Management, Capital Maintenance and Strategic Estates. To develop and manage key relationships with external stakeholders, funders and development partners, including Homes England and Registered housing providers and Community led housing groups. To manage and monitor the Community Housing Fund budget, liaise with Communities CAN and lead on Community Led Housing Project Group meetings. To support the Housing Delivery Manager in drafting Business Cases and submitting funding bids and ensuring compliance with funding obligations.
