Further InformationWe are looking to recruit a general assistant to be based at Blyth Riverside Resource CentreThe position is permanent, part time 20 hrs per week.The role: You will undertake cleaning and food preparation at the Blyth Riverside Resource Centre assisting the Cook in the preparation of a lunch time meal and refreshments to staff and service users. The Blyth Riverside Resource Centre provide daytime activities and care and support to adult with Learning Difficulties, some of whom have complex care needs and physical disabilities. You will assist the cook in all aspect of the operation of the kitchen assisting with the basic preparation, cooking and service of food and beverages, setting up the dining area, washing tables, serving meals, cleaning catering equipment and maintaining ahygienic kitchen environment. General kitchen duties will include washing up and cleaning of equipment, cupboards, and surfaces. You will assist the cook in the receipting and managing of stock, monitoring of fridge temperatures and the safe handling and storage of food in accordance with current food hygiene standards. You made be required to cover the cooks duties from time to time in their absence. Working Week: Working hours 9.30 to 2.00 Mon to Fridays (including ahrs break).The position is Band 1 £18,333 (pro rata).Who are we looking for An individual with a basic food hygiene qualification, experience of undertaking food preparation, an ability to undertake manual tasks associated with food preparation, experience of working in a catering environment, applicant should demonstrate a committedto maintaining a safe and clean environment to a high and consistent standard.
