Job Description

Menzies Distribution are currently recruiting a Transport Supervisor to work a 4 ON 4 OFF shift pattern out of our depot in Blunham.Rate of pay:£32k P/AHours of work: 4 ON 4 OFF, 6-6, OT availableTransport Supervisor Duties:

  • Ensure that your Site Planners plan all relevant customer deliveries utilising the software available at site to ensure delivery windows are met.
  • Through liaising with your Site Planners that you are fully aware of any delays and possible issues with delivery + communicating this to clients
  • Develop back haul lanes with both Menzies depots and 3rd party customers whilst maintaining fleet utilisation.
  • Co-ordinate a late load report in line with operational requirements and deadlines.
  • Ensure that Site Planners are aware that the loads meet safety standards.
  • Ensure adequate Pre/De-Briefing of Drivers is taking place to ensure that they fully understand their instructions + all paperwork is correct
  • Ensure your Site Planners are compliant with Working Time Directive + driver cards are regularly checked
  • Ensure that the Site Planners Conduct regular meetings/ reviews including probation assessments and return to work interviews with their drivers.
  • Ensure compliance with Agency Driver checklist.
  • Record trailer information on all inbound/outbound deliveries and stand trailers.
  • Fully understand and communicate agreed KPIs for Department
  • All other transport office related duties
Requirements:
  • At least 2 years experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of WMS + driver working time directive
  • Ability to use Microsoft applications such as Excel
