Job Description

Were actively recruiting for an Engineering Planner/Scheduler at our Blunham, Bedford site. The focus of this role is to deliver a world-class service in a fast-paced environment to delight our customers and grow our business. The Engineeringfunction is key to the success and continued improvement of our site operations.In this role youll need to use your knowledge and expertise to prepare and co-ordinate structured preventive, predictive and planned remedial work in order to optimise equipment availability and safety by minimising downtime. Youll also have responsibilityfor maintaining historical equipment data within our SAP-PM business system to prepare and coordinate scheduled maintenance work and assist management colleagues in making informed and prioritised decisions.Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Apply EHS standards and principles in the framework of the maintenance program
  • Management of the Asset care program including engineering breakdowns and reporting on the effectiveness of the team
  • Coach individuals in the Work Management processes and support the team to develop an environment of trust and support that will encourage engagement and individual development
  • Support the strategic development of the team and department to deliver the sites Business Plan in line with Divisional/Group initiatives
  • Constantly evaluate the asset tactics for all equipment
  • Participate in daily analysis meetings, conduct weekly schedule review meeting and produce weekly performance metrics
  • Produce a short-term maintenance schedule of planned work for the assigned equipment to meet business needs and labour capacity
  • Work closely with the Reliability Engineer, engineering team and others to improve cross- functional relations and increase flexibility and efficiency in our services
  • Continually challenge and develop our process flows and methods of operating to deliver upon our customer excellence programme
  • Play an active role within the companys management team and deliver continuous improvement projects
  • Participate in root cause analysis of equipment and facility issues
  • Ensure all quality systems and procedures are maintained at the highest level within the business
To be successful in this role you should have experience of working within a manufacturing environment, proven knowledge of using continuous improvement tools and techniques with a good understanding and working knowledge of SAP systems.Other essential attributes include the ability to make decisions in a time pressured environment, a track record of performing at a high level in a fast-paced customer service and commercial environment and an awareness of the financial impact of decisionsmade to service the customer base. You should be competent in the use of Microsoft, particularly Excel, and experience of leading a team/people management with experience of a pro-active approach to change management is highly desirable.We prefer that candidates are educated to A level or hold an equivalent relevant technical professional qualification to join our developing Engineering Team.Benefits
