Job Description

FirstBus are looking for an Operations Manager to join us atour Blantyre Depot!You will be joining First Glasgow, the largest busoperator in Scotland, operating over 800 vehicles on 100 routes, serving the large Greater Glasgow area. Atour Blantyre Depot, you will be responsible for 200 colleagues and a fleet of 142 buses, helpingpeople get to all of lifes destinations. Its an exciting time to be here!What will you be doing Reporting into our Head of Operations (Glasgow) you will:

  • Demonstrate your leadership capability by championingour purpose, delivering in line withour strategy and aligning to our values
  • Understand and care for your people, prioritising their wellbeing, and motivating them to provide an excellence service
  • Understandourcustomers, and make bold decisions towards providing an excellent service
  • Collaboratewithyouroperational, engineering and functional leadership colleagues, to operate strong core routes on the Glasgow Network and contribute to an annual turnover in excess of £100 million
  • Drive all aspects of operational performance, ensuring legislative, process and policy compliance and be a champion of our safety culture
  • Use data and insight to analyse our business performance, in accordance with agreed governance, to inform continuousimprovement of our service and progress towards our FY23 objectives

  • Demonstratable experience of operating according to our values
  • Substantial leadership experience, an expert in leading colleagues through transformational change
  • Forward-thinking, with the ability to innovate and implement new ideas withresilience and a positive attitude
  • Energy and confidence to challenge how we do things
  • Ability to work within and embed ourdivisional governance framework, ensuring that operational excellence policies and procedures are embedded within the depot
  • Willing to work as part of the team building great relationships, engaging with front-line colleagues and trade union representatives
  • Customer centric values, leading and delivering an excellent customer experience, whilst looking for new ways to improve
  • In receipt of, or willing to study for yourCertificate of Professional Competence in Passenger Transport (CPC)
