Job Description

QED Legal are proud to representing a prestigious law firm in the city centre who are looking for an experienced credit controller to join their team.This role entails providing support to the Head of Debt Recovery and delivering crucial management information and analysis to various stakeholders across the firm. Handling interactions with clients ranging from individuals to corporates.Key Responsibilities:

  • Chase and collect overdue invoices efficiently.
  • Manage a high volume of communications including phone calls and emails.
  • Proactively engage with clients to understand reasons for non-payment.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as processing statements and payment reminders.
  • Provide timely management information and reconciliations for informed decision-making.
  • Prepare regular reports for management and distribute them to fee earners.
  • Maintain debtor ledger balances.
  • Apply knowledge of debt recovery protocols to progress recovery efforts as needed.
  • Manage the collections teams inbox effectively.
  • Handle invoice queries and assist fee earners in resolving client disputes.
  • Stay informed about team and individual collection targets and track progress against them.
Requirements:The ideal candidate should be highly organised, with prior experience in credit control and debt recovery procedures. Strong numeracy skills and the ability to multitask independently in a fast-paced environment are essential. They must demonstrate proficiencyin managing diverse debtor books and have hands-on experience in client interactions. Proficiency in Excel and basic accounting knowledge is required. Candidates should be comfortable managing varied workloads and exhibit confidence and persistence while remainingcalm under pressure, especially during phone calls. Excellent computer skills and keen attention to detail are crucial.
