Job Description

Candidates should ideally be a minimum of NEBOSH Level 3 or 4 qualified with experience in all areas of workplace Health & Safety.Candidates should ideally have experience in a heavy manufacturing environment where machining, profiling and fabricating/welding occur. Knowledge of a paint plant would also be advantageous.Good communication skills and the ability to use all Microsoft Office packages is essential.Applicants must be approachable, very hands on and be comfortable in spending time on the shop floor.A calm, assertive and firm attitude is vital with the ability to work under pressure and without direct supervision.Duties include* Responsible for the Health, Safety & Welfare of Employees.* Managing the Companys general Health & Safety in the Workplace on a day-to day basis, incl. Risk Assessments, COSHH Assessments, Fire Safety, etc.* Carry out health and safety inductions for new starters.* Document and investigate all accidents/investigations.* Advise on the suitability and provision of PPE.* Deliver toolbox talks on health and safety issues to all levels.* Conduct safety audits and inspections.* Ensure first aid materials are replenished.* Advising Managers, Foremen and Employees on current Health & Safety Legislation.Acorn Recruitment acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment.
