Job Description

Our mission is simple… to help the world Love Mondays.Every week, thousands of people across the UK start a new job – and it’s our job to help them get there.REED is a specialist provider of permanent, contract, temporary and outsourced recruitment solutionsWe require an Investigations Officer to cover an existing workload within Lancashire Constabulary, based in Blackburn.This role will suit ex-Police Officers or retired Detectives.This is an interim Part-time position initially for 3-6 months with the potential to be extended, dependent on workload.To be successful the role:

  • Experience of investigating crime
  • Experience of maintaining & interrogating computerised systems and manual filing systems
  • Experience of using police databases to research and record information.
  • Experience of dealing with members of the public
  • Experience of working in partnership with other departments and agencies
  • Experience of working effectively and efficiently as part of a team, and working with minimal supervision
  • Experience of gathering critical evidence by interviewing victims, significant witnesses and suspects.
  • Experience of working on own initiative, investigating problems, developing solutions and taking appropriate timely action to resolve them Knowledge of intelligence gathering procedure and policies.
  • Experience of dealing with difficult situations or conflict
  • Experience of maintaining strict confidentiality using tact and diplomacy where appropriate
  • Experience and knowledge of the Criminal Justice System relating to the PACE Act, including searching premises, handling exhibits, interviewing suspects, and CPIA 1996, relating to disclosure
