Job Description

Job Title: HR ConsultantContract Type: TemporaryStart Date: 2024-06-11End Date: 2024-07-31Hourly Rate: £15 to £19Our client, a large and complex organisation, is seeking an experienced and qualified HR Consultant to join their dedicated team. As an HR Consultant, you will play a crucial role in providing HR support and advice to our clients managers. In addition,you will work closely with schools in the Borough, offering employment advice to Headteachers and Governing Bodies.Key Requirements:

  • Appropriate professional qualification (minimum Level 5).
  • Experience of working in a large complex organisation and effectively communicating with stakeholders and customers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to solve problems and analyse issues.
  • Demonstrated ability in report writing, delivering presentations, and influencing key stakeholders.
  • Ability to remain positive and adaptable in the face of change and challenges.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide professional HR advice and guidance across the organisation on all HR-related issues, working in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop relationships to understand and support the needs of the organisation, and contribute to the delivery of initiatives, change, workforce strategies, and projects efficiently and customer-focused.
  • Work collaboratively with managers at all levels to shape HR priorities that meet business needs, taking into account new legislation, developing workforce strategies, implementing government initiatives, and maximising funding opportunities.
  • Support the HR Service in areas such as employee relations and engagement, statutory responsibilities, procedural advice, workforce development, workforce strategy development, and health, safety, and well-being.
  • Identify and analyse recurring issues, and develop appropriate strategies to reduce the level of reactive casework in the organisation.
  • Provide advice and support regarding high-level complex case and change activity, including dismissals and appeals.
  • Ensure excellent customer-focused service delivery in line with service SLAs and KPIs, regularly seeking and acting upon customer feedback to continuously improve the service.
  • Collaborate with Trade Union colleagues to understand and reduce employee relations issues.
  • Streamline processes and ways of working to drive efficiencies within the service.
  • Utilise MI (Management Information) to identify trends, improve service performance, and support strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and implement strategies to nurture and support employees, as well as effective people managers within the organisation.
  • Engage with the workforce at all levels to shape and influence organisational culture.
  • Use MI/KPI measures and data to support the organisation in achieving effective and efficient service delivery.
  • Stay updated on national and local HR priorities and initiatives, contributing to the HR business plan.
  • Develop HR policies that align with legislative and statutory changes in employment law, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions.
  • Engage organisational managers in the development and delivery of HR Workshops.
  • Contribute to the overall work ethos of the service by working as part of a team and supporting the roles of others.
  • Serve as a positive role model, building constructive relationships, utilising interpersonal skills, and encouraging colleagues to do the same.
  • Support the development of colleagues within the HR Service.
This is a temporary position, starting on June 11, 2024, and ending on July 31, 2024.
