Job Description

Job Title: Well being PractitionerPermanent, Selly OakSalary up to £32,000Overall purpose of the role for Well being Practitioner:To provide day to day therapeutic presence on site ensuring all visitors experience empathy, friendliness, and compassion. To take client referrals and deliver assessments to visitors as required. (Full Referral and Assessment training will be provided) Todeliver well being groups and workshops. To contribute toward shaping the therapeutic offer of grounded. as it develops.Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Maintain, develop and ensure an inclusive, non-judgemental and compassionate visitor experience.
  • Process on the spot referrals with visitors - supporting them with their first step in to Talking Therapy services
  • Deliver on the spot assessments with visitors - supporting them with the self-management of their recovery, identifying areas where the person wishes to see change and making an accurate assessment of risk to self and others
  • Devise and deliver well being workshops - always ensuring the themes are relevant, accessible and diverse
  • Attend and participate in community based well being focused events
  • Provide information to visitors - this may be details on upcoming events, which room their therapy session is in, how to refer core services for further mental health support, and on some occasions, support visitors in distress, escalating them to clinicalstaff or emergency services
  • Contribute ideas for the programme and the general output of grounded.
  • Provide day to day guidance and support to visitors.
  • Establish and maintain a proactive and interactive relationship with the local community.
  • Form sustainable and strong partnerships with local authorities, voluntary agencies, community groups, Universities and Primary Care Networks.
  • Provide information on community, educational and economic resources available to visitors and how to access them.
  • Support visitors to identify ways of improving their well being.
  • Ensure detailed records are kept for service users.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures.
  • Attend team meetings and planned supervision sessions.
  • Attend training and development opportunities as identified to develop your skills.
Person Specification and experience
  • A relevant degree or clinical qualification such as a psychology degree
  • Non-judgemental and empathetic
  • Approachable and non-intimidating nature
  • Positive, energetic and solution focused approach to work
  • Confident communicator at all levels
  • High level of integrity and understanding of confidentiality and discretion
  • Enthusiastic attitude and appetite to learn
  • Team player
  • Experience of working in the local community
  • An understanding of anxiety and depression and its presentations
