Job Description

We are looking for a creative Web Developer for an exciting opportunity based in Birmingham.Client DetailsOur client is a leading retailer in the UK. Based in Birmingham with over 100 years of history. They are now looking to expand their digital development team to enhance and build some new features on their e-commerce platforms. The company have over 6 brandsunder their umbrella and you will be join their in-house team to writing and developing website modules to expand and enhance websites.DescriptionYou will be working alongside the Head of Group Marketing and the Group Digital Marketing Manager and you will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining websites for the groups brands. You will also be involved the Groups marketing strategyto become the global world leader in the industry by using key digital marketing approaches to market the brands.Key responsibilites:

  • Work with key stakeholders, to plan and coordinate the agreed website plans
  • Collaborating with the marketing team on website projects
  • Build creative and responsive websites by writing code, designing pages and incorporating graphic and video elements
  • Write code in one or more programming or scripting languages such as HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL and knowledge of JavaScript, html5 and API integration
  • Back-end development - software, databases and APIs
  • Front end development - visual design, interface and user experience
  • Have a strong understanding of OpenCart and WordPress
ProfileThe successful candidate will have the following skills:
  • Bachelors in Computer Science, Graphic Design or related field, or 3+ years additional experience
  • Proven working experience in web programming and designing
  • In-depth knowledge of coding
  • Experience of working with OpenCart, HubSpot, SharePoint would be advantageous
  • A solid understanding of how web applications work including security, accessibility and best development practices
  • Comfortable developing in a mobile-first approach
  • Knowledge of SEO processes and requirements
  • Problem diagnoses and problem-solving skills
  • Strong project management/organisational skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to work to defined budgets
  • Confident and dynamic personality, with good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
