This is an unparalleled opportunity to impact lives and thrive in an environment where your work directly translates into meaningful advancements in healthcare.Role Purpose:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) Designer who will specialize in healthcare systems to be utilized by clinicians, nurses, administrators, and ultimately patients. The ideal candidate will have aproven track record of designing intuitive, engaging, and effective interfaces for complex, data-heavy healthcare applications.Key Responsibilities:- Design user interfaces for healthcare applications, focusing on data visualization, workflow optimization, and user engagement.- Conduct user research, create user personas, and map user journeys to understand the unique needs and challenges of healthcare professionals and patients.- Collaborate with the Software Development team and Clinical Advisory Board to ideate, prototype, and iterate on design solutions.- Continually engage with client organisation representatives to understand and document the clinical pathways and workflows that will be served in the Virtue applications.- Apply best practices in UX/UI design, considering factors like usability, accessibility, and regulatory compliance.- Create and maintain design documentation, including wireframes, mock-ups, user flows, and interactive prototypes.- Test and refine designs based on user feedback and analytics data.- Stay up to date with the latest trends in healthcare technology, UX/UI design, and data visualization.- Maintaining adherence to design standards such as the NHS Design System.Qualifications:- Bachelor’s level qualification in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field. Equivalent industry experience with relevant certifications will also be considered.- 3+ years of experience in UX/UI design, with a strong portfolio showcasing SaaS or similar user-facing projects.- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Adobe XD, Sketch Figma, inVision, or similar.- Solid understanding of design principles, ideally as they relate to healthcare applications and data-intensive displays.- Experience in conducting user research and usability testing.- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and basic front-end development is a plus.Desirable Skills:- Experience with MS DevOps, documenting requirements for future sprints, understanding the design backlog and effort.- Ability to directly contribute to the software implementation of the design with a range of design assets e.g. images, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, etc.- Ensure consistent implementation of design across web browsers and devices, understanding behavioral differences.- Work closely with the Front-End and Back-end developers as they implement additional functionality to ensure optimal user experience.- Graphics and Image editing aptitude- e.g. Photoshop and Illustrator.- Ability to work with code editor, e.g. VS Code or Sublime.- Understanding of Vue.js specific elements techniques and tools when planning design e.g. responsive design, approaches, and components.- A solid understanding of accessibility requirements and how to implement them.- An awareness of secure by design principles for UI/UX.- Adept at collaboration and wireframe tools like Miro, Balsamiq.- Knowledge of healthcare design and governance standards (e.g. NHS DTAC).- NHS or healthcare background and awareness.General Approach:- Pragmatic and adaptable, with a proven ability to navigate complex business processes and client user needs.- Proactive and positive.- A collaborative and communicative team player, who thrives in a multidisciplinary team environment.- Enjoys mentoring and sharing experiences to build the knowledge and confidence of others.- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with healthcare clients, the public, and stakeholders.
