Job Description

Im working with a fantastic client that are looking for the right person to become apart of their family. They are looking for someone to support and help them grow in their carrer as they help the company grow as well.Hybrid working and a happy, healthy worklife enviroment.They are looking for:-Transactional finance managerBackgroundCentral to the companys strategy is to improve its operational effectiveness and efficiency, which represents a significant opportunity to grow value, as well as a challenge to drive and implement. This includes the finance function, which has evolved greatlyin recent years, but there remains much work to be done, and is now a requirement to make a step change increase in the rate of progress.Scope of roleThe role encompasses responsibility for the Cash and Accounts payable teams, with two direct reports and 8 indirect. This role reports to the Financial Process Controller. The main areas of focus are:

  • Lead, drive and nurture a team of 10 colleagues, supporting their development.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls; identify and address gaps.
  • Review and monitor SLAs and processing KPIs
  • Use own experience alongside inputs from colleagues and third parties (e.g. external audit) to prioritise work plan for the team. Reduction in backlog within Accounts Payable and automation of cash allocation and web sales are likely to be areas of highpriority for the short/medium term.
  • Improvement of processes and policies
  • Develop close links with relevant colleagues in other areas of the business to ensure that financial controls in those areas are appropriate, effective, and operating properly, for example,
    • Working with the Profit Protection Manager to provide greater visibility over cash discrepancies.
    • Working with Area Managers to drive forward process improvements within store declarations and cash management.
Person requirementsAt least 5 years relevant finance experience in industry, having worked through junior roles to more senior positions with demonstrable progress within each role.Experience should have been gained in medium sized businesses; retail or multi-site experience is desirableA determined and persistent "operator" who is practical and gets things done and, whilst tactful, will not take no for an answer in the pursuit of making improvements.If you think you can add value to this role please get in touch!Thank youGary
