Pertemps are looking for Fabricator Tig Welders to join a well established Sheet Metal company.Key tasks:To comply with health and safety policy.Responsible for regular maintenance of machines and equipmentResponsible for ensuring route cards are filled in correctly.Responsible for area housekeeping.To work from drawings and using own initiative to weld and fabricate components to the customers quality standards.Developing manufacturing methods including jigs and fixtures.To manufacture parts using general fabrication tools and techniques .To participate in continuous improvement projects and attend training courses where applicable.Hours of workDay shift6.00am-4.15pm Monday -ThursdayAdditional DutiesThe individual has the responsibility and authority to ensure customer requirements are met.The Quality Office is to be informed promptly of products and processes that do not conform to customer requirements.It is the nature of the work that tasks and responsibilities are in many circumstances unpredictable and varied. All employees are therefore expected to work in a flexible way, when the occasion arises, including occasional evening and weekend work.These additional duties will normally be to cover changes in work and will normally be compatible with the regular type of work.QUALIFICATIONSCity and Guilds or equivalent in sheetmetal/ welding or proof of comparable experience.EXPERIENCETime served experience needed in MIG and TIG welding. Must be able to weld aluminium,stainless steel and mild steel to high standard.Must be able to manufacture components from drawings and/ or samples.Experience in prototype development work.KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLSBroad knowledge of welding processes.Able to work in a team environment.Able to read engineering drawings.Able to use measuring equipment.Able to give accurate costs for quoting purposes.Full driving licence.Fork lift truck licence.If this is you we have immediate starts
