Job Description

Closing Date: 17/02/2022Are you looking for a new challenge Join the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games and use your experience to ensure a successful delivery across all venues. Birmingham 2022 is looking for multiple Temporary Infrastructure Project Coordinators to support the Overlay team in the planning, management and operational delivery of Games Overlay (temporary facilities and installations) for all competition and non-competitionvenues. Key responsibilities will include coordinating design information, assisting with key reporting and tracking, and working with various external partners and suppliers to deliver the overlay strategy.The successful candidates will have proven project coordination experience, excellent written and verbal communication skills and an understanding of infrastructure planning and delivery.Responsibilities

  • Support the Overlay team with operational planning for overlay installation, construction phases and Games time site management services.
  • Work with the Overlay team, turnkey suppliers, venue owners, functional areas and engineering consultants during final planning phases to finalise venue design and scope information.
  • Coordinate with Organising Committee venue teams and functional areas for planning, scope development, confirmation and delivery of Games time requirements, ensuring facilities are fit for purpose.
  • Assist the Overlay team in ensuring overlay requirements are planned, designed and delivered safely and in accordance with relevant compliance and legislation.
  • Assist with reporting, tracking and resolving risks and issues that arise through the life cycle of the project.
  • Support the development of venue completion, transition, access and handover/handback strategies.
  • Coordinate design information between functional areas, contractors and suppliers.

  • Excellent project coordination skills.
  • Competent in supporting report writing, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient IT skills; Word, Excel and Microsoft Project.
  • An understanding of infrastructure/venue facilities planning and delivery.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings for quality assurance of infrastructure delivery.
  • An understanding of The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 through project delivery phases.
  • Experience in the management of contractor performance and site progress against an agreed schedule.
Desirable
  • Experience of working with statutory authorities such as town planning, building control and licensing to obtain required approvals.
