Technician - BirminghamA fantastic opportunity to work for a privately owned specialist transport planningconsultancy as a Technician providing design expertise for new and adopted junctions and highways for new residential, commercial, leisure and retail developments in the UK.You will have the chance to provide the 2D pre-planning/preliminary designs for new and adopted complex junctions and highways for a variety of high profile developments. Supporting a busy and growing transport planning team, your AutoCAD expertiseand knowledge of design standards and planning agreements (S278 etc), will be invaluable to delivering the technical element of design solutions for new development projects. Working with the transport planners and private sectors clients your design solutions will form part of the planning proposal and will feed into the detailed design stage after approval. We need a highly skilled and knowledgeableTechnician at any grade who has demonstrable experience of supporting the designs associated with new major inner and outer city housing developments, retail parks, supermarkets, leisure facilities, school and mixed-use sites. You need to be able to hit the ground running, understand a brief and create accurate andsuccessful design solutions without requiring significant guidance and support.Alongside providing AutoCAD designs there is also an opportunity to develop wider technical transport planning skills across GIS, data analysis, vehicle tracking and junction assessments and modelling using Arcady, Picady etc. This is not a requirement and this may not be of interest, but if it is, you will be given exposure and support to develop these skills. This role sits within the Birmingham team and although you will be working from home during the Covid pandemic and there is complete autonomy for flexible working, youwill stillbe expected to visitthe Central Birmingham office for team meetings etc in the future. Therefore being able to commute into Birmingham is still a requirement. This consultancy is without doubt one of the leading consultancies in the UK transport and development planning sector with a high profile portfolio of prestigious clients. This business values and rewards its employees like no other and they are very much a fun, friendly and supportive family that all pull together. This ethos is very much at the heart of their ever growing success. Come and be part of their journey and take your career to the next level. Please apply or contact John Tittley:
