Job Description

Chase Taylor Recruitment are currently working on an exciting opportunity for an experienced Technical Manager to work for a well-established Aluminium Windows, Doors and curtain wall fabricators in their office in Birmingham.Responsibilities will include

  • Manage, coach, and develop a high performing estimating and technical team
  • Set department objectives / KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance
  • Review and resolve technical issues throughout the end-to-end process, specifically during design phase
  • Establish technical standards and procedures
  • Develop estimates for large or complex projects
  • Provide technical assurance to fabricators, clients, and contractors
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop product & system knowledge to represent the company to the highest standards
  • Support continuous improvements through cost engineering techniques and processes
  • Ensure reporting systems and procedures are in place
  • Work closely with supply chain to ensure purchasing strategies are maximised
  • Comply with Health, Safety and Environmental Policies
  • Proactively contribute to creating a good team atmosphere
  • Be aligned with the business values and incorporate them within decision making
Essential Criteria
  • At least 3 years construction industry experience
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
  • Proven management skills with the ability to optimise team performance
  • Competent user of AutoCAD
  • Experience of CNC
  • High level of accuracy and excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, numerical and literacy skills
  • Highly developed analytical skills
  • Customer focused
  • Proficient IT literacy (Microsoft Packages)
Desirable Criteria
  • Estimating experience
  • Experience using LogiKal
  • Experience in a fabrication background
  • Familiarity of Reynaers, Aluprof and Metal Technology products and systems
  • Project Management skills
