Our customers priorities are important to us and we will go above and beyond to help realise them.If youre the best at what you do and believe in a world with better Wi-Fi, come and join our journey as a new Wifinian!The role purposeWe are looking for a Technical Network Field Engineer to be the onsite hero and the face of Wifinity to our clients in need of help. In this role you will be providing first class customer support and technical solutions on a daily basis.This role will provide you with a great insight into the industry and exposure to how large networks are built and managed.Key Responsibilities Joining our Field Engineering team, you will be responsible for troubleshooting from both a technical and physical perspective to resolve any issues.You will need a strong understanding of data networking and how the Internet works from a technical perspective to work with our Network Operations centre on providing first class solutions to our customers.Your day to day role will consist of the following responsibilities, you may be required to carry out further responsibilities at the companys discretion.

  • Network / client device troubleshooting on our sites.
  • Working with our Customer Service and Technical Support Team to diagnose and resolve reported issues.
  • Provide technical services to our physical infrastructure installation team and work with our Installation team to help make sites "Live".
  • Carry out network performance analysis, compiling performance reports and responding to network monitoring alerts.
  • Carrying out scheduled network maintenance.
  • Ability to respond to live break fix and maintenance faults in the field.
  • Help strive towards technical excellence within our networks helping to deliver an excellent end user experience.
  • Carry out onsite Wireless surveys for new and existing Wifinity locations and prepare a survey report.
  • Provide on-site support to our compliance team and help resolve and conduct remedial work on site to the MoD network installation standards.
  • General awareness of Health and Safety at work including RAMs.
  • You will deliver all set targets to contribute to a successful business function in line with the strategic objectives.
  • Carry out WiFi optimization within our existing sites.

  • Build sustainable relationships and trust with customers through open and interactive communication
  • Handle customer queries, provide appropriate solutions and alternatives within the expected time frame and follow up to ensure resolution

  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous experience of working in a client-facing environment and have excellent customer facing skills

  • Self-motivated and able to work to challenging deadlines
  • Excellent Customer facing skills
Your experience
  • Have an understanding of the 7 layer OSI model and be able to describe all 7 layers at an overview level.
  • Be able to demonstrate a good practical hands-on experience of physical, switching, routing, transport protocols and theories including: Fibre, Copper, DSL, VLANs, STP, POE, Trunking, IP Addressing, TCP, UDP
  • Experience of working with Wi-Fi is essential, able to demonstrate an understanding of the different IEEE standards.
  • Previous experience of troubleshooting client device issues.
  • Be handy with physical infrastructure such as data cabinets, cat5, patch panels, crimping
  • Have experience running and terminating fibre optic cables and fibre splicing
  • Able to work with industry standard infrastructure testing tools

Qualifications Essential
  • Full UK driving license

  • Current holder of IPAF
  • Current holder of government security clearance to SC or DV
