Job Description

* Technical claims* Claims handler* Claims specialistLOCATED IN BIRMINGHAMAn excellent opportunity for a Technical Claims Specialist within the travel sector. Working for a caring premium UK assistance provider, who strive to deliver an exceptional customer experience. With a strong ethos and drive continuous improvements and aresupportive all the way.A Technical Claims Specialist who is responsible for providing technical support to the operational teams. This will include decision making and meeting operational, financial and service requirements, open file reviews and authorisations up to £10k acrossthe travel claims team.As a Technical Claims Specialist you will aid in ensuring that the quality and efficiency of service delivery is developed to meet and exceed the needs of the business and customer.HOURSBased on 35 hours per week. Shifts covering 8am to 6pm Monday to Saturday and Bank Holidays on a rota basis. However, due to the nature of this role hours may vary in line with the needs of the business.This Technical Claims Specialist should have proven experience at a senior level is key for this opportunity, with ideally a minimum of 5 years experience in Travel claims. * Engage and support Claims handlers in making the correct claims decisions and providing technical support* Deep understanding of insurance regulations and how these apply to claims handling* Support the Senior Technical Claims Specialist where needed* Ensure process slips are reviewed and approved/declined providing feedback to both the individual and Team Manager as appropriate, recording outcomes where appropriate* Ensuring Open file reviews are undertaken against Stochastic escalations and recorded as required* Support the Team Objectives in developing Travel claims technical capability* Support with technical decisions and queries from the travel teams* Ability to build trust with internal and external stakeholders through technical and operational claims decision making. * Maintain open communication with the claims managers and teams to encourage regular feedback* Ability to bring all the parties in a claim together and achieve an outcome that satisfies all. * Make sure the team is kept up to date with product and technical developments and information. * Involvement where necessary of potentially complicated claim related matters and assist claims personnel in decisions around claims settlements within limits assigned * Our vision is to be renowned as the caring premium UK assistance provider.
