Job Description

Female Support Worker with the ability to show empathy and recognise the importance of putting the individual first, demonstrating a passion for care is required for a well-established care service based in the Stockland Green area of Birmingham,West Midlands.Full Training ProvidedSALARY: £11.00 per Hour (Weekdays)£11.30 per Hour (Weekends)£11.50 per Hour (Weekend Nights)LOCATION: Stockland Green area of Birmingham, West MidlandsJOB TYPE: Permanent, Full or Part TimeWORKING HOURS: 12 hour shifts, the position may require candidates to be flexible and work a variety of day and waking night shifts, with weekend and bank holiday work included.PLEASE NOTE:Some of the roles require male or female employees only, where this is indicated it is a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.For this current role the organisation can only take on female staff due to the service users you will be supporting.JOB OVERVIEWWe have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Female Support Worker with the ability to show empathy and recognise the importance of putting the individual first, demonstrating a passion for care.Working as a Support Worker you will be a motivated, enthusiastic, and passionate individual to support a male who enjoys boxing, golf, Caribbean food and listening to music. This individual requires staff support with activities of daily living such ascooking, cleaning, and social integration.As a Support Worker you will be supporting a male individual who has a diagnosis of learning disability, autism spectrum disorder, and has a history of behaviours that may challenge.   • Providing support to individuals to complete activities of daily living
  • Building a therapeutic rapport with individuals and their families/carers
  • Assisting individuals with budgeting, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning
  • Ensuring the individuals physical health is addressed by attending health care appointments
  • Reporting any concerns to the Management Team
  • Attending any training assigned
  • Supporting individuals with medication administration/ daily care plans
  • Complete daily records and continually monitor the individuals needs
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
  • Passionate about care
  • Good verbal, numeracy, and written skills
  • Ability to show empathy and recognise the importance of putting the individual first
  • Good punctuality and attendance
  • Full UK Driving Licence (desirable, not essential)
  • Knowledge of Safeguarding of vulnerable people
  • Able to commit to fixed rota patterns
  • A good understanding of confidentiality and the General Data Protection Act
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety in the workplace
  • Achieved QCF in Health and Social Care Level 2, or commitment to working towards
  • Ability to continuously learn and develop new skills and increase knowledge
