Job Description

Salary: £26520Location: Hybrid with the requirement to travel in and around the Central England region as required.Department: Children`s Services - Central EnglandLine manager: Resources ManagerThis is a newly created role to provide administrative support to Assistant Directors mobilising new services into the region and providing essential administrative and financial support to services within the Central England Region where there is a gap inadmin provision.Central England region comprises of eight localities - Birmingham, Black Country, Midlands South, Midlands North, Midlands West, Herts and Suffolk, Milton Keynes, Bedfordshire and Luton and Peterborough and Cambridgeshire. The region incorporates a broadrange of services including residential, family support, children and family centres, mental health and well-being, early intervention, CSE, advocacy, and leaving care.Working Hours:

  • This is a permanent full time (36.25 hours per week) position. Flexibility with working pattern can be discussed with the successful candidate but must fit with the business need.
Location:
  • You will be required to provide admin / finance support predominantly virtually - working either from home or an approved collaboration hub, with the requirement to visit services in person where tasks / business need dictate this. You will also be requiredto attend meetings and training face to face regionally, therefore, you must be able to travel across the region when required.
Qualification: Education/Knowledge
  • Well-developed numeracy and literacy skills at a level which will enable post holder to perform moderately difficult calculations and produce reports.
Experience
  • Proven substantial office experience.
  • Proven substantial experience of using IT packages including word processing, spread sheets, databases, Windows applications.
  • Experience of operating financial systems including petty cash, budget monitoring and control.
  • Experience of managing complex financial systems including financial reporting and audit.
Skills/Abilities
  • Numerate, accurate, methodical, and analytical.
  • Able to manage the workload appropriately, demonstrating efficiency and reliability, including meeting deadlines.
  • Able to work independently without direct supervision, demonstrating initiative when required.
  • Flexible and adaptable (particularly in relation to working hours and location)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing high quality and accurate administrative support to Assistant Directors as part of the mobilisation process. This will include arranging meetings and taking action notes, updating trackers and risk registers, updating actions and any other administrative,financial or data tasks required. Proven substantial office experience and of using IT packages is essential.
  • The provision of essential administrative and financial cover for services currently without a Service Administrator due to sickness or gaps due to recruitment. This may be virtual support or visiting services to undertake key tasks that cannot be supportedremotely or a combination of both.
  • Provide essential administrative and financial cover for services newly mobilised into the region.
Key working relationships:
  • Internal contacts: Senior Management Team, Business Services colleagues, locality service teams, Business Development Team, colleagues located in other regions/nations.
External contacts:
  • Suppliers, Local Authorities, Other Third Sector Providers
Other responsibilities are outlined below:
  • Support to Resources Manager
  • As required, support with the recruitment of Service Administration staff
  • As required, support with the induction and training of Service Administrators
  • As required, any other duties commensurate with the grading of the role
