Your new roleHighways England manage one of the largest road networks in collaboration with our supply chain, together we improve our customer’s journey by making them safer, more reliable and boost the economy. Join our Commercial and Procurement directorate as a Supplier Performance Manager where you will take an active role in translating and improving the performance of our supply chain who are vital to the successful delivery of the next Roads Investment Strategy!As a Supplier Performance Manager you will be responsible for operating a collaborative performance framework, monitoring our suppliers performance against delivery plans and ensuring the supply chain adheres to the performance standards Highways England expects.This is a key role where you will contribute to enhanced supplier capability and improved performance, delivering sustainable added value to all parties. You will have improvement focused conversations with a wide range of suppliers, gathering information and intelligence on how our suppliers are performing, as well as analysing and interpreting supplier data, contributing to decision making for projects, programmes and shaping / sharing better practices. The role would suit an excellent communicator with proven relationship management skills as you will be required to attend meetings with suppliers and project teams evaluating supplier performance, as well as delivering training to the supply chain in line with changes to practices and approaches. If you’re passionate about building positive relationships and delivering tangible benefits to the organisation please apply now!What you’ll be doing• Responsible for working with and analysing data supplied by projects and suppliers to assess performance and provide intelligence to the business on whether a project or supplier is meeting targets against metrics aligned to our corporate imperatives. • Provide performance intelligence to the business, in a clear and concise approach to support decision making processes for current projects and for future supplier choices to enable Highways England to get the best value for money suppliers and support future allocations• Responsible for working towards and contributing to the development our collaborative performance framework, ensuring continual monitoring of suppliers’ performance to hold them to account against delivery plans, working closely with suppliers to ensure they are aware of the self-assessment criteria and the importance of completeness of accurate submissions. • Establish relationships with suppliers to manage performance and implement improvement plans in areas of underperformance and highlight best practice to the performance leads• Undertake root cause analysis and work to provide solutions to the organisation to ensure best value for money is achieved from the supply chain• Provide intelligence to Programmes to inform decision making processes for time, cost and supplier selection and retention approaches ensuring information and reports are accurate.To be successful• You will have experience of supplier performance management in a major multi-disciplinary environment • You will have demonstrable experience of recognising patterns and trends in a wide range of supplier performance metrics / data and drawing key conclusions to shape and deliver positive change• You are able to create and maintain positive, professional and trusting working relationships with a wide range of people within and outside the business to get things done • You will have experience of interacting confidently with Suppliers and the business to enable improved business results at pace• You will have some experience of using Dynamics 365 and Excel, experience of PowerBI is desirableA bit about usThere’s never been a better time to join our Commercial and Procurement team.
