Job Description

Attention all Structural Engineers!Blueprint Recruitment are looking for a driven Structural Engineer to join an international Design, Engineering and Project Management consultancy to work on a variety of exciting building and infrastructure projects. This permanent position requires theselected candidate to operate on a hybrid basis, attending the Birmingham office 3 days per week.Our clientOur client provides multidisciplinary Engineering services and solutions on a variety of specialist Engineering projects across a range of sectors, including, Energy, Defence, Residential, Education and Transportation. They are looking to appoint a StructuralEngineer to help grow their Building Design Practice in the Midlands and across the UK.Responsibilities:

  • Represent the client on Site visits and at design team meetings
  • Assist in the execution of projects within defined design
  • Undertake research, data collection and presentation of information.
  • Present results to clients under supervision of an Atkins lead designer
  • Help maintain a broad range of skills within the team to ensure full support is provided to the design staff
  • Ability to use your technical skills and knowledge on a wide range of building structures, and apply to various circumstances.
  • Comply with Quality and Technical Assurance Procedures
  • Awareness of and work in compliance with BIM standards, Digital Plan of Work and the project BIM Execution plan.
  • Previous experience with parametric modelling software and software coding (Dynamo, python, C++ etc.) is desirable
  • Assist/Mentor the development of apprentice and less experienced staff
  • Develop conceptual solutions to problems through to detailed design
Requirements:
  • Working towards or achieved Chartered Membership (IStructE or ICE).
  • Proven experience in the design of structures using the conventional engineering materials (steel concrete, timber, masonry) to Eurocodes.
  • Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
  • Graduate Member of relevant body (IStructE or ICE).
  • Experience in the use of structural analysis design software (Robot Structural Analysis and Revit experience is desirable but not essential).
  • Willingness and flexibility to learn new software.
  • Embrace new technologies including digital engineering, automation and parametric design.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel and work within other offices for periods of time.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills that can support our client relationships.
  • You should have the ability to make decisions, act on your own initiative and operate in a pro-active way
