Job Description

Job Title:Spares planner / Material ControlWork Base: Marston Green - office basedDuration: 3 months (potential to go perm dependent on performance)Work Hours: 37. Mon-Thurs 8-4 and Friday 8-3Shift: DaysTravel: Regular visits to suppliersPay rate: £12.99phThis position is responsible for managing the planning of MG spares to through to supply chain fulfilment.Key activities:

  • Run the daily req. report as required and configure required demand in accordance with the S&OP demand and planning tools
  • Liaise with internal customers to ensure the demand profile for key platforms is correct
  • Load customer demand into SAP, raise purchase orders in SAP
  • Ensure the supply profile matches the MRO expectation, negotiate changes with Suppliers or logistics when required
  • Develop and maintain working relationship with Suppliers (Mainly RRCS) to ensure the delivery schedules are achieved
  • Manage the First Time Call process to ensure all false calls do not proceed through the process to RRCS (seeking alternative methods of supply where possible)
  • Manage high level sign off process to ensure inventory is not brought in at a high value to sit in stock, and that commercially it makes sense to purchase brand new spares
  • Ensuring planning of parts falls into line with the budgeted inventory levels each month
  • Highlighting and resolving opportunities for improvement with team, in particular around planning, inventory and other process improvements
  • Attend stand up meetings within the MRO and Spares to identify and progress issues as they arise
  • Assist with achieving inventory, sales and OTIF targets
  • Assist with other planning activities as required
Experience:
  • The ideal candidate will have a good working knowledge of SAP, have a planning and supply chain background and ideally have some experience of working within the aerospace industry.
  • Evidence of process improvements you have made or been involved in.
Personal Attributes:
  • The candidate must have excellent communication skills, self-motivated and demonstrate a pro-active approach to problem solving.
  • The ability to operate within a team environment is a pre-requisite. The desire to perform other functions to ensure to the department maintains its two deep skills requirements.
  • The individual should also have good PC skills, advanced ability on Excel is essential.
