In this role is to deliver the highest quality customer driven software whilst continually challenging, motivating, mentoring and supportingtheir engineering teams. Help the team to develop technical strategies to transform and improve our lab!Identifies shortcomings and suggests improvements to existing processes, systems, and procedures. Delivers prescribed outcomes for area of responsibility by working with colleagues and supporting teams.Define, deliver, and adapt specialised products/services to meet customer needs by selecting the best possible approaches available within established systems. Analyses specified problems and issues to find the best technical and/or professional solutions.Form part of one of our feature teams to define and drive delivery to maximise value. Having an excellent understanding in software development lifecycle is key (preferably the Agile Framework) and should be validated through your experience to date!About us Like the modern Britain we serve, we’re evolving.   • Knowledge of InterSystems IRIS / Cache Software platform and some IRIS configuration experience.
  • Knowledge of IRIS object script for the application and some full stack development using client frameworks such as React, Angular JS, jQuery using Typescript, to interact with the application via Web Services
  • Working knowledge of SQL and being able to generate IRIS data mappings to SQL tables.
  • Understanding and practical involvement in use of Cloud Solutions (such as Google Cloud Platform)
  • A good understanding of GitHub, source code management and managing change.
  • Knowledge and experience of agile development practices, continuous integration and test automation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team working skills. Experience of technical guidance and mentoring.
It would also be great if you had -
  • Functional Domain knowledge in Wealth and the Financial Sector.
  • Exposure to other languages like Linux script, Python, Java
  • Working with IBM MQ and Connect Direct interfaces
  • Working with RHEL / UNIX and Windows Server operating systems
  • Automation tools like Urban Code Deploy (UCD), Jenkins or similar
  • Knowledge of running the IRIS platform within containers such as Docker
