Job Description

National Expressis one of the biggest coach/bus operators in UK. We also operate in USA, Spain and Germany.Our online technology allows our customers to book, amend and pay for their tickets online and provides information on their journeys.Team:COLO team as part of digital transformation is tasked with online automation of booking and reservations of journeys on coaches around UK, as well as customer self service for managing, amending their bookings and track of their historical bookings. Thisincludes initial development as well as enhancements, support and maintenance of these bespoke software applications.We use Java, NodeJS and AngularJS as our main programming languages on Windows and Linux.This team is responsible for supporting the business by realising their needs and requirements to implementation which realises cost savings and better service through provision of self service for the customer.On daily basis the team members may be involved in coding new features, bug fixing, deployment of code in various environments, installing and support of various software tools used in dev/test/prod environments, testing and documentation.Overview:We are now looking for an eager candidate to join us as an apprentice.You will have the opportunity to gain valuable skills, knowledge and experience as you complete a Software Development - Level 3 Apprenticeship.Key Responsibilities:

  • Basic understanding of company business
  • Writing simple basic and high-level technical requirements
  • Coding in Java
  • Installing software
  • Testing of the relevant applications

Entry requirements:The entry requirements for this programme are as follows:7 GCSEs total:
  • English GCSE grade D or above
  • Other 6 GCSEs, including Maths, to be C or above
You must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level than this apprenticeship in a similar subject.You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme.
