Job Description

Software Development Manager - Agile - Birmingham/FlexibleSoftware Development Manager required for an established organisation based in Birmingham City Centre, where you will be responsible for leading the Agile development within the organisation. You will be responsible for leading the developmentteam to ensure they follow best practice Agile delivery techniques and develop software in line with best practice. The role will 1/2 days in the office in Birmingham City Centre.The ideal candidate will have strong track record of agile software development management, alongside experience of managing large and small scale projects. Experience working with remote teams would also be desirable.Key Responsibilities of the role

  • Lead on software and technical delivery using Agile practices and techniques including Scrum.
  • Guide and mentor development teams, locally and remote, covering various languages including .NET, Java, SQL.
  • Ensure the end to end SDLC lifecycle is agreed and followed.
  • Ensure solution quality and development standards are upheld and continuously improved.
  • Provides high level support for all IT solutions to ensure bugs and critical defects are resolved in a timely manner.
Key Skills of the role
  • Previous software development management experience, working with both remote and on-site developers.
  • An understanding of a range of programming languages, including .NET, Java & SQL etc.
  • Agile/Scrum Delivery experience
  • Strong client, project sponsor and stakeholder relationship skills.
  • Strong communication skills and experience working with 3rdparty suppliers.
  • An experienced leader, with an ability to motivate and engage both technical and business teams.
SalaryThe salary for this position is up to £75,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus excellent benefits. The role will initially be remote, and will be 1/2 days in Birmingham City Centre in the mid-long term.Interested!
