Job Description

Our Client is looking for an experienced Site Fuel Controller and Production AssistantAvailable shifts / Locations below

  • B11 2AU
  • 07.00am - 15.30pm Monday to Friday
£12.50 Plus £1.51 holiday pay per hour, so £14.00 Per HourWorking directly for the Plant Management Team, but on a day-by-day basis reporting to the Duty Shift Team Leader, the post holder will work as a member of a small site team having responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of the Energy from Wastefacility. The Site Fuel Controller will have responsibility for co-ordinating the delivery of fuel deliveries, ensuring the quality of the fuel is in line with the required standard and liaises with the Fuel Supplier.Assist in co-ordinating the utilisation of Site Production Support requirements from roles such as Plant Cleaners and Front-End Loader drivers, to ensure efficient use of such resources in maintaining plant availability and reliability.A challenging role, that is critical to the successful delivery of the long-term operational contract, key duties include:

  • Ability to work both alone and in a team
  • Awareness of health and safety procedure
  • Manage the flow of vehicles in the yard from the weighbridge to the tipping point
  • Collecting tickets from drivers and inputting data onto weighbridge PC
  • Directing vehicle movements around the apron and ensuring safety of pedestrians in the vehicle movement area
  • Carrying out routine fuel quality inspections and sampling in accordance with Site procedures and reporting on outcomes to Duty Shift Team Leader, Fuel Supplier and / or Client
  • Operating the Forklift truck and / or Front-End Loader to assist deliveries or maintenance / operations in accordance with Safe Systems of Work
  • Carrying out plant-related routine duties to ensure plant performance, availability and reliability is maintained to a high level
  • Keep operational logs and plant records as requested
  • Controlling the fuel deliveries on / off site
  • Fuel sampling of each fuel delivery
  • Operation of weighbridge reports
  • Acting as banksman for vehicle manoeuvres
  • Receiving other site deliveries
  • FLT driving would be a big advantage.
  • Assisting operations with task as additional labour as required.
  • Responsible for keeping the car park and reception yard clean of material, rubbish, and other debris.
  • Relocation and connection of plant waste skips as required by operations.
  • Basic IT Skills having experience in operating a range of Systems including Microsoft Office Suite and ideally a Maintenance Management System
  • • IOSH Working Safely or equivalent
  • • Full UK or EU driver’s licence
  • Front end loader certifications are desirable but not essential.
  • Previous experience in a Production support role at a power generation/energy from waste/industrial process facility
  • Working knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation
  • Experience with a permit-to-work system and also with Safe Systems of Work (SSoW)
  • Excellent communication skills and team mentality
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • The willingness to undertake training to better understand the plant, processes and procedures involved in operating a power station
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure
