Job Description

Signalling Principles Designer - RailLocation: York, Doncaster, Birmingham or ManchesterPermanentSalary: £45,000 - £65,000 + Excellent benefitsCompany:Multi-disciplinary Rail Contractor is seeking an experienced Signalling Principles Design Engineer to work on a variety of brownfield and greenfield projects in the UK for Main Line and Urban Transit clients. Excellent opportunity to see a project from detailed design to construction supervision within an established leader in the rail market.The Role:A Signalling Principles Design Engineer is required by Multi-disciplinary Infrastructure Contractor to work on a major Network Rail multi-million long-term programme in the North of England. Reporting to the Design Manager you will be responsible for designing detailed technical drawings for successful approval of signalling construction.As Signalling Principles Designer you will be:

  • Undertake signalling principles design work.
  • Check junior colleagues work and mentor them.
  • Work with the Verifier and Design Manager to ensure work is completed on schedule and budget.
  • Work with Signalling Testers to ensure designs meet project requirements.
  • Deputy CRE or Verifier as required.
  • Role requirements:
  • HNC/HND or degree in Engineering
  • IRSE Signalling Principles Design license 1.1.550
  • Previous experience designing signalling for Network Rail
  • Experience in Grip 4-8 detailed and support for construction. RRI interlocking experience most desirable.
  • Team player with good attention to detail
  • Great verbal and written communication skills in English.
