A Service Engineer is required for a hugely successful OEM of ancillary equipment to the machine tool industry here in the UK. With over 50 years of trading within a niche market, they stand out head and shoulders above their competition by offering bothproduct solutions and aftersales support.Their machinery and equipment are both recognized and highly regarded as the best in the industry, with showrooms in the UK and Europe, offering product training and demos. With a full team of support from both technical helpdesk and in the field, customersatisfaction is paramount.Product training is provided, if youre more mechanically bias then the business will invest in electrical training if you have a willingness to learn.Benefits include a starting salary of £34 - £37K depending on experience, door to door payments with Time & 1/3 after 40hrs, Time & ½ at weekends, company car or van fully expensed, credit card for field expenses, 33 days holiday including bank holidays,company pension scheme, laptop and brand new phone, and lots of product training on offer.As a service engineer, youll be responsible for -- Travelling to customers to carry out installation, repairs and servicing of the full product range- Full servicing of products which includes strip down and cleaning, testing, calibrating- Carrying out minor and major repairs, replacing worn parts as necessary- Providing on site customer support, demonstrations and product training- Ordering of spares and replacement parts from the office as needed- Overnight stays in hotels occasionally, with overnight allowances all paid for - Ensure all tools, equipment, devices and company property are maintained and looked afterTo be successful as a service engineer, you will have - - Previous experience as a field service engineer or technician, repairing of industrial machine tools - Possess both electrical and mechanical fault finding skills, or if purely mechanical, the desire to want to develop electrical skills through further training - Able to use field equipment such as multimeters, testing devices, oscilloscopes etc- Flexibility towards especially in the midlands and areas of the south, as well as overnight stays in hotels when required- Clean UK Drivers LicenseThis is a great opportunity to join a well established service team, within a corporate business that still has a family feel to how they treat and grow their team.
