Job Description

Are you a Senior UX/UI designer with a genuine passion for environmental sustainability and combatting climate change We are working with an inspirational and innovative business based in central Birmingham that is helping the UK to accelerate toward NetZero. This opportunity comes with a salary of £50 - £60k and can be hybrid if desired, 1 - 2 days per week in their central Birmingham office.The CompanyThis company houses approx. 200 people and work with household brand names to design, test and deliver digital products and services to enable those businesses to hit their net zero targets within the energy sustainability market.They offer a flexible, adult working environment with a fantastic culture and supportive team. Everyone there is genuinely passionate about what theyre working towards, and the business advocates autonomy and trust, whilst at the same time striving to makeit an exciting environment where people will want to stay long-term.They offer a hybrid model with 1-2 days a week on average in their Birmingham office and the salary bracket will range between £50-60k depending on experience. There is also a great benefits package on offer including an excellent pension, life insuranceand healthcare as well as a discretionary annual bonus.The Role Working on end-to-end UX/UI design, you will collaborate with the wider digital and insight teams, working on individual projects and creating new digital products or innovative services within the sustainable energy market. Specifically:

  • You will enjoy working closely with the research and development teams and alongside a service designer, owning the scoping of work with the client and taking control of each project from end to end - from research to user testing and delivery
  • You will lead Discovery sessions alongside the user researchers, whether that be workshops or online surveys. They also have their own tools and consumer panels set up to aid this process
  • Owning the end-to-end process, you will think about the architecture and user flow, creating the wireframes, and site maps as well as user profiles (if not already created), working in an agile methodology
  • Youll work independently to take concepts to high fidelity, using Figma and other UX/UI software and enjoy following the market and keeping up to date with any new software that could prove useful in the delivery of their products
  • Whilst the predominant focus in this role is UX, there is roughly 30% of the role that is UI focussed, which is broader than just creating nice user interfaces. You may also be involved with architecture and data streams
About You You are passionate about creating great digital products that help the environment, using your experience within UX to help their clients bring new products and services to the market and creating a real difference in peoples lives.You enjoy taking ownership of the end-to-end process, from research to delivery of each new product and enjoy being at the forefront, helping to shape and influence policy across the UK and being able with your experience to identify user needs and buildingexperiences that delight users and in turn, work towards sustainability in their sector.You are able to work on a few different projects at one time, able to juggle the different stages and processes of each product - whilst they arent an agency, they do run similarly to an agency model with having a small number of products and projects workingconcurrently.You enjoy collaborating with a wider team and enjoy making processes efficient, but are confident to be able to work independently and lead projects.Whilst a small product design team currently, there is planned growth in this team in the next 12 months, which could create some good opportunities for development within the role.Its important for this role that you have had experience of shipping a product to market and be able to work on 2 larger projects alongside one another (project lengths can vary from 2-3 months to 3-6 months for each project).If you love creating user-centred design experiences and are excited about the work that you create making an impact on the planet, then dont delay in sending across your CV and portfolio/case studies for review against this role.
