Job Description

A Midlands based Multi-disciplined Engineering Consultancy is seeking an experienced Transport Planner / Engineer to join its growing transport development planning team.We are looking for an experienced Transport Planner / Engineer who has suitable qualifications and experience and recently worked in the transport development planning sector. We invite candidates with 5 to 20-years experience to work on a wide-rangingmix of projects for Clients from the private and public sector.

  • Experience of writing Transport Assessments and Travel Plans and knowledge of the transport development planning process in the UK
  • Experience of liaising with development design teams and UK local highway and planning authorities
  • Competent with software such ARCADY, PICADY (Junctions 10 software) and familiar LINSIG
  • Familiar with local and national highway design guidance for developments including DMRB and MfS
  • Able to critique development layouts in relation to access, parking and transport facilities and undertake concept highway design, ideally using AutoCAD. Experience of vehicle tracking software is preferable.
  • Able to assess the suitability of a development site in terms of sustainable transport and road safety.
  • Able to analyse traffic and multi modal trip generation data including use of TRICS
  • Able to proactively work in a multi-disciplined design team while confident to work independently to solve problems
  • Good communication and presentation skills
