Job Description

Are you a tech-savvy problem solver ready to make an impact Our MSP client is seeking a dynamic Senior Support Engineer to provide top-notch remote and phone support while mentoring others in a flexible work-from-home role.My client, a top IT managed services provider, delivers computer services to a diverse range of SME clients throughout the region. They are currently looking for a Senior Support Engineer to join their technical team, offering remote and telephone supportto their diverse customer base.This position is primarily a work-from-home role, and you will act as an escalation point and mentor for other engineers, helping with more complicated support issues and major outages. Many customers rely on my client as their IT department, or as a pointof escalation for their IT support departments, so previous experience in a similar role is highly desirable.Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of support calls when necessary
  • Act as an escalation point and technical lead for major outages for both external customers and the internal network
  • Provide technical support and solutions to customers
  • Troubleshoot issues, conduct system tests, and recommend solutions
  • Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software systems
  • Monitor system performance and suggest proactive solutions
  • Ensure adherence to security policies and procedures
  • Stay current with the latest technologies and platforms
  • Develop and maintain documentation
  • Assist with cross-training
  • Collaborate with vendors to ensure prompt resolution of issues
  • Work within agreed SLAs
  • Work alongside the support department
Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, etc.)
  • Familiarity with WAN technologies (xDSL, FTTC, FTTP, 4 & 5G / Leased Lines / Routers, etc.) installation and troubleshooting
  • Expertise in VMware/ Hyper-V
  • Experience handling major outages, including ransomware/crypto locker attacks
  • Experience working in various customer environments (On-premise & Cloud)
  • Excellent and demonstrable documentation ability for both technical documents and customer communication
  • Expertise in Firewalls, Routers, and Switches
  • Expert knowledge of Active Directory, Azure AD, MFA, Conditional Access, Endpoint Manager
