Job Description

Our client, a leading construction firm is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team. With a commitment to excellence and a proven track record in delivering high-quality projects, they offer a challenging and rewarding work environment.Position: Quantity SurveyorLocation: MidlandsSalary Range: £40,000 - £70,000 per annum, DOEKey Responsibilities:

  • Conducting feasibility studies to estimate materials, time, and labour costs.
  • Collaborating with project managers, architects, and contractors to gather project specifications and requirements.
  • Analysing and evaluating sub-contractor bids and proposals.
  • Preparing and maintaining project cost reports.
  • Identifying potential cost-saving opportunities and proposing value engineering solutions.
  • Monitoring project progress and costs, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Conducting regular site visits to assess progress and resolve any quantity-related issues.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to ensure accurate project documentation and compliance with regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a focus on both large and small building contractors and sub-contractors.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and methods.
  • Proficient in using quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
  • Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
Key Skills and Experience:
  • Demonstrated experience in minimizing costs and maximizing efficiency in construction projects.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and standards.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in cost estimation.
