Job Description

Senior Network Engineer - Cisco, iOS, FirewallBirmingham - £50,000 - £60,000 + BenefitsApplause IT are proud to be working with a market leading software house in Birmingham who are seeking to add a Senior Network Engineer with extensive knowledge around a Cisco networking environment and Apple ecosystem.This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Network Engineer looking to make their mark on some exciting and highly regarded projects. The company are passionate about being at the forefront of technology and so you will be invited to make suggestions onthe implementation of tech and new ways of working.The successful Senior Network Engineer will have experience and knowledge of the following:

  • Proven hands-on work experience in a senior network position, including:
    • Experience of networks, IP/data/routing and switching, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • CCNP and/or CCNA certification or equivalent/similar qualification
  • In-depth experience of working within the Apple ecosystem, including a predominantly macOS and iOS user-base, including Jamf or other Mac device management system.
  • Knowledge of managing Google Workspace (GSuite), Okta or equivalent, Atlassian products, Zoom, and other cloud-first IT systems.
  • Cloud-based IT service management and in particular AWS infrastructure components including on-prem to AWS network bridging.
  • Excellent knowledge of VPN, DNS, DHCP, LANs/VLANs, etc, in a largely Cisco networking environment.
  • Experience of firewall management (Palo Alto preferred)
  • Experience working with IT ticketing systems against SLAs, with excellent record keeping skills using defined helpdesk software/tools.
  • The ability to research, design and propose fully costed solutions to business problems in a straightforward manner.
  • Ability to manage, mentor and develop other members of the IT team.
