Job Description

Stanton House is currently recruiting for a Senior Management Accountant to join a PE-backed Retail Business in Birmingham on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract (with the potential to go permanent for the right candidate). The role offers a salary of £60,000- £65,000 and a 10% bonus paid on successful completion of the contract. This is a hybrid role working 2-3 days in the office.Responsibilities:

  • Assist and drive the management accounting process to improve business performance.
  • Prepare and lead the month-end process and work towards significantly expediting month-end procedures.
  • Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, highlighting key performance indicators and trends.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insights and recommendations for optimising financial performance.
  • Monitor and report on variances between actual financial results and budgeted/forecasted figures.
  • Conduct cost analysis to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Maintain and update financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment between financial goals and overall business objectives.
  • Get involved in the transformation project within the finance team.
To be suitable for this role you must have the following:
  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Proven experience where you have led a process improvement project.
  • Have been involved in a transformation project previously.
  • Proficient in Excel and accounting systems (Oracle is desirable).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and patience for systems and processes.
