Job Description

Company description:Senior Engineer (Nights) Murphy Group is looking to speak to an established Senior Engineer to lead and be accountable for aproject site operation of a medium size project.Ensuring that the scope of works is delivered in a safe manner, on time, to the required qualitystandards, meeting the acceptance criteriaand achieving the expectedfinancialoutcomes.Job description:The Project As part of HS2 enabling works, LME have been awarded the Work Package 62. The project focus is highways and utility diversion and comprises heavy earthworks, roadworks (tarmac, signalling, fencing white lining), traffic management, deep drainage works, multiple utilities diversions, non-contestable utility connections and construction of attenuation pond with the associated penstock chambers and outfalls.The Role

  • Plan the works, managed and delivered the construction activities in a safe, controlled and environmentally sustainable manner.
  • Promote and follow a strong culturefor NeverHarm, engagement with the CDP programme.
  • Prepare risk assessments and method statements andreviewed regularly.
  • To act in a professional manner, embodying the vision, values and purpose of the LME.
  • Be part of a project team acting in a professional, morallyand legally appropriate manner.
  • Tobe fully accountablefor thedelivery of the construction activities, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, in accordance with the specifications.
  • Ensure construction activities are identified, understood and delivered.
  • Identify issues and ensure they are resolved in a controlled and timely manner.
  • Identification,assessmentand documentationof risks and opportunities during the construction sequence.
  • Support the project team to progressively complete handover documentation so that we are “fit to finish”, complying with the contracted completion requirements of LMJV.
  • Follow communication to procedures ensuring relationships with LMJV Team and other project stakeholders are follow and maintains.
  • Manage and resolve any actual or potential conflicts with the LMJV Team or project stakeholders.
  • Represent the LME business to the LMJV and external stakeholders, embodying our vision, values and purpose.
  • To ensure construction programmes are implemented, reviewed and updated
  • Weekly update the 4 weeks look ahead programme of the activities under his control.
  • Plan the construction works at an appropriate level of detail.
  • Communicate the construction programme of the activities under his control in an effective manner to the construction team
  • To ensure the programme is updated enabling the identification of change and early warning of any potential issues and causes for concern.
    • Your Profile
  • Highly skilled and a proven track records heavy civils, in earthworks and drainage
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Highways Specifications Series 500 and Series 600.
  • Engineering and numeracy skills for material quantification, take off and reconciliation v/s the tender allowance will be a requirement for the role.
  • Good oral and written communication skill, able to prepare and deliver method statement and risk assessment to the Contractor (LMJV) as well as the LME workforce.
  • Commercialand contractualawareness
  • Flexible to work night shifts on a permanent basis
