SENIOR EXTERNAL AUDIT MANAGER, STATUTORY AUDIT APPOINTMENT, WITH A DIFFERENCE! - BirminghamI am currently supporting a world-renowned organisation who are looking to appoint an experienced statutory auditor to their team. This is a senior appointment within the organisation and is a very exciting opportunity for someone who is perhaps at a crossroadsin their career, someone looking to regain some work-life balance but still looking for a challenging role. This would suit someone looking for an interesting and varied role where you have the autonomy and independence to manage your workload whilst still being supported by an experienced national team of colleagues. This role involves supporting a very varied clientbase but without the pressures usually seen within an audit role. It does involve travel but only in a regional capacity within a local geographical area, with very occasional travel to London. You will rarely spend more than a day or two on any one auditand you will see varied days with no two days the same. There is very low staff turnover, and you will be working in an experienced team of like-minded individuals with a wealth of knowledge who are supportive, and team orientated. You will be responsible for working with clients and reviewing audits and it is essential that you have a clear understanding of the organisations approach, assessing the adequacy of audit evidence, and discussing the overall quality of the audit with theorganisation. You will also conduct monitoring reviews in other areas, including assurance. You will see the process through from start to finish and will conclude the audit either with recommendations of what is required and be responsible for reviewing theactions and providing support where needed or to identify if no action is needed. You look at the review and verifying the companys accounting records as per accounting standards and principles looking at the day-to-day management of risks during normal activitywithin an organisation, making sure they have the right controls and processes in place. You will provide an independent perspective for the clients from an external assurance perspective. To quote the Senior Manager responsible for the team who is himself from a Top 4 background You work on your own terms, and you can add real value to your clients which they really welcome. The work-life balance is fantastic, and I really do love my job, Ihave gone from working a 90-hour week to getting my life back.If you are looking for a new role but perhaps are not sure which direction you want to take or if you are an experienced external auditor who is looking for a change, please do reach out so we can discuss this fantastic local opportunity further. This is NOTa run-of-the-mill audit role! They also offer a car allowance, a flexible holiday package, a generous pension scheme, private medical, and a work/life balance. Ideally you will be in based in the Birmingham/Oxford areas, or somewhere along the M40 corridor between the two in order to beable to service the clients in the region.Unfortunately, due to the high number of applications currently being received, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
