Job Description

A dynamic, award-winning Building & Architecture Consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Architectural Technologist to enhance their Birmingham office.The Senior Architectural Technologist role The successful Senior Architectural Technologist will join a dynamic and friendly team of professionals, working across a broad range of sectors on exciting projects such as Healthcare, Education and Residential.The incoming Senior Architectural Technologist will be proficient in Revit, working in a hybrid capacity with the ability to work from home 2 days a week to promote a good work / life balance and will manage two Assistants.This could be the perfect opportunity for an Architectural Technologist who feels theyve hit a ceiling in their current role and have the desire to take a step up, manage juniors, and make a real impact. Or, an established Senior looking for a flexibleand friendly company with a great culture and expanding portfolio.Duties also include:

  • Lead user meetings.
  • Support and mentor junior staff, including Apprentices and Part I / Part II Student.
  • Take receipt of a brief and develop it into a design without intervention.
  • Achieve efficient and effective construction detailing using robust and sustainable design solutions.
  • Prepare compliant designs by following UK Construction Law, British Standards and relevant CoPs.
  • Choose or advise on material selection. Respect the limited availability of natural resources when making design decisions. Consider design life and durability.
  • Author bespoke specifications in NBS Chorus. Evidence supporting technical data in project folders.
  • Assist the Project Team with designing to a budget. On instruction, assist with value-engineering.
  • Participate in project reviews and coordination workshops.
  • Assist in gathering and preparing information required to support statutory submissions, such as Planning, Building Regulations and Building Safety Gateways.
  • Negotiate with statutory bodies, write reports and complete statutory submissions (planning Applications / Gateway Submissions / Building Regulations etc).
The Senior Architectural Technologist
  • CIAT or RIBA registered
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrable experience in leading the delivery of production packages.
  • Proficient in Revit
  • Good knowledge of UK Construction and Building Law.
  • Confident and enthusiastic.
