Job Description

Job Role: Senior Accounts Assistant (6 Months FTC)Location: Birmingham (Office)Salary £28,000As a Senior Accounts Assistant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting various accounting functions. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, a proactive mindset, and a strong workethic.Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Sales and Purchase Ledger:
    • Ensure all books and records are up to date for timely year-end accounts submission.
    • Prepare statutory accounts and submit them to Companies House.
    • Conduct monthly payroll and pensions processing.
    • Maintain key client accounts and handle weekly debtors and creditors reporting.
    • Request necessary information from clients before accounts submission.
    • Answer client queries via telephone and email.
    • Manage mailbox, ensuring invoices are posted correctly, and promptly respond to client queries.
    • Prepare ageing debtors monthly for clients.
    • Complete VAT returns.
    • Perform income distribution schedules and bank transfers.
    • Liaise with consultants secretaries to obtain relevant documents and information.
Additional Duties:
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as reasonably required, commensurate with the level of responsibility.
Skills and Experience Required:
  • Experience using Sage 50 and Sage Account Production.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work to targets and take responsibility.
  • Self-motivated and hardworking.
  • Knowledge of Peoples Pension.
  • Reliable and dependable to complete tasks on time.
